The People’s Rights Movement (PRM) is a left-wing political confederation of working-class struggles committed to structural changes in the Pakistani state, widespread social change, and a fundamental reconfiguration of the capitalist-imperialist world order.

PRM works with numerous working class movements, all of which are completely autonomous. PRM seeks to provide support to these struggles, whilst also trying to forge meaningful interaction between them so as to build a larger political movement that can challenge the dominant military-bureaucratic state oligarchy and its propertied class partners. Read more about PRM and the political context in which it operates.

PRM works closely with broadly leftist and nationalist political entities in the country, and engages with such groups on matters of common interest, including the question of national (provincial) rights, militarization of state and society, and external domination by international financial oligarchies.

We operate totally on a volunteer basis and generate funds from individual donations. We are opposed to all kinds of institutional funding as this compromises political independence, particularly in an environment where donor funded NGOs are proliferating rapidly. Read more about this in the 'Monthly Review' and in 'Socialism and Democracy'.
